20th July PTA Novice Working Test

We are very pleased to say that Jane and Lowforge Aurora (Charlie) won this Novice Working Test, it is particularly nice to succeed with a dog that we bred ourselves, and hope that Charlie will do well in Open tests, and look forward to trialling her this season.

Well Done .....

On Sunday 1st June, Graham Hartis, and Lowforge Amy achieved a very creditable second place in the Burns and Becks Gundog Club Puppy Test, and were also judged to be the best pup under 12 months. By all accounts, the tests were quite demanding, so Graham and Amy did very well against dogs up to 18 months old.Amy is the first of the Viper/Ash mating to achieve distinction in Working Tests, let’s hope it’s the first of many successes for Amy and her siblings.

Update - June 2008

Sunday 25th May, we were invited along to a Field Trial training day for Labradors. Our role was to work the spaniels in front of the line, to add a touch of realism to the day.It was a very interesting experience, the following links provide photos (Click to View Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvWRCzYfYbA)).Training continues apace for all the other dogs, except Rudy, for whom nothing seems to happen at pace, he's just happy being handsome. Three of Sonny and Indys pups came round recently. Now 16 weeks old, all doing well in their new homes. It is interesting to see how they are all developing completely different characters. The dog pup, Adder couldn't make it, but he looks like he's been keeping himself busy.

Update - March 2008

MARCH 2008 - Now the shooting season is long gone, training is underway once more.Seal, pictured left, is doing very well so far, and Rudy, pictured right, once he has decided to concentrate on the task in hand, is proving to be a very bright dog. Bella, pictured here, belongs to a friend of ours, she is 11 months old, and to say that she had no training whatsoever until my friend recently acquired her , she is doing remarkably well. Now Indy is off her pups, she is starting to be eased gently back into training, at present we are concentrating on building up her fitness levels. As for the cockers, Missy is really starting to get into her stride, hunting with real style and purpose. Spike continues to improve, but if his trialling career does n't work out, we may have an option, as his picture appeared in Shooting Times 28th February, on P4/P5, maybe modelling is an option, and Rocket, shows us he can still remember how to retrieve. Fizz, my springer is currently in season, so she is enjoying a few weeks additional rest. The first Working Tests will be coming along shortly, keep checking in for updates on our progress, or otherwise, as the case maybe.
