Our interest in Labradors began with one dog, Flynn, Contrail Champers of Lowforge. Flynn was a wonderful dog, with whom we have both spent countless enjoyable hours. Flynn was 18 months old when we bought him. We decided that following on from him, we would like to try our hand at training a pup ourselves, so we went back up to Scotland for Ash, Pittendreich Highlight of Lowforge, she proved to be a very willing pupil, and Jane formed a strong bond with her. Ash has grown into an excellent working bitch, and Jane was bitten by the training bug, and has continued to train our other Labradors, some of which can be seen here.
Pittendreich Highlight of Lowforge - Ash was our first serious attempt at training a gundog, she enjoyed some success in Working Tests, winning a Novice Cold Game test, and been placed in Open Tests. Ash is now the cornerstone of Janes picking up team, a fast stylish bitch, that excels in retrieving runners. Ash had her first litter last year, sired by FTCH Greenbriar Viper of Drakeshead, and we have high hopes for the two pups we have kept back out of this mating. The rest of the litter went to working/trialling homes. We look forward to seeing them competing in years to come.

Glenbriar Ellen - Ellie is very sweet natured girl, always eager to please (herself mostly!). Another member of the picking up team. Ellie is the mother of Jud, and Charlie. This litter was sired by Flynn, Contrail Champers of Lowforge, our first Labrador, whom sadly we lost late last year, at the tender age of 8 ½, he is sorely missed by both of us.

Swaine Siskin of Lowforge - Indy is a very well bred bitch, by FTCH Pocklea Adder, her training has been aimed towards competing in Field Trials, therefore her days out picking up have been very few and far between. Indy has been quite a challenging dog to train, she has very strong hunting instincts, and these can takeover at times. However, she invariably finds what she has been looking for. Indy has just had her first litter, sired by Sonny, Druimmuir Dodge of Lowforge. Once she has fully recovered from her maternal duties, she will return to her training, and hopefully compete in trials in the coming season.

Druimmuir Dodge of Lowforge - Sonny is a handsome yellow dog, bought from our friends at Druimmuir Spaniels. Sired by FTCH Kenue Fir of Leadburn, out of an excellent working bitch by FTCH Craighorn Bracken. He appears to have inherited the drive and hunting ability of his sire, in combination with the responsiveness and biddability associated with the bitch line. Sonny has proven to be a real all rounder in terms of working ability. Spending a great deal of his time as my peg dog. However, he is equally happy picking up on the grouse moor, or at heel on walked up days. Furthermore he has also competed in Field Trials, and it is our aim to run him again this year. Lowforge Aurora - Charlie is a bitch we kept back from our first ever litter. She has just completed her first full season of picking up, and has acquitted herself very well indeed, and we are delighted with her performance. Charlie is a very keen and biddable bitch, showing absolutely no fear of the heaviest cover. This may be something to do her with running around with the spaniels since being a pup. After having a break for a few weeks, she will go back into training with a view to running in Working Tests during the summer, just to keep her focused, until the season comes round again.

Lowforge Amour - Seal is the bitch pup we have kept back from the mating between Ash and FTCH Greenbriar Viper of Drakeshead. At 8 months old, we are just starting to ease her into formal training. Seal has thus far proven to be a very attentive, and biddable pup, very level headed, and eager to please. Jane seems to have formed a strong bond with her, at even at this early age. We will update this page as her training progresses.
