Our introduction to spaniels, and cockers in particular followed a very similar route to our interest in Labradors. Our first cocker, Jamie, Contrail Cosmos, was bought as an older dog. Jamie is the most adorable cocker, and such a character, even by cocker standards. Having seen what an experienced dog could do, again we decided to have a go from scratch with Rocket, Contrail Catch a Fire. We have now learnt, to our cost, that cockers are extremely addictive! However, Jane prefers the more leisurely pace of her Labradors, leaving me to the joys of training the spaniels.
Glenlaggan Fizz of Lowforge "Fizz" - Fizz has been real challenge to train, when she arrived with us, she was a very timid little bitch. Over the course of the last 15 months, we have slowly been able to build her confidence, to the point where she has been out on shoots, without any major problems. Fizz is an extremely stylish and hard hunting young bitch that we think she has the potential to trial, if we can start to exert a little more control, without affecting her newly found confidence. It’s going to be an interesting few months training with Fizz, we’ll keep this page up dated with her progress.

Churchview Toby of Lowforge "Flash" - Flash is our youngest cocker, he is FTCH/FTCH bred. He is a very bright young dog, and always gives good eye contact, he is about to start more formal training, we have high hopes for him.

Contrail Quickfire "Spike" - Spike is a very keen hunter, and covers the ground in a powerful, flowing style. As he matures, we hope this power and pace will continue to develop. Spikes’ training programme for this summer is aimed at having him ready to compete in the Autumn trials. It is hoped that we will be able to offer Spike at stud at some point in the not too distant future.

Contrail Florence of Lowforge "Missy" - Missy is a very lively, typical young cocker bitch. She is full of energy, and hardly ever stays still for long. As with Spike her training is aimed towards field trials, and she is progressing very nicely, with her hunting gaining more purpose and style at each training session. She is a talented retriever, though being a small bitch we were a little concerned, she may find larger retrieves difficult to deal with, not so, cock pheasants, and hares have been dealt with without any problem at all.
