    The LineOn the Hill

Sunday 25th May, we were invited along to a Field Trial training day for Labradors. Our role was to work the spaniels in front of the line, to add a touch of realism to the day.

  • Update October 2008

This time of year sees the shooting season really get into full swing, with the opening of the Pheasant season, though in truth, it’s usually November before they start flying well.

  • Well Done .....

On Sunday 1st June, Graham Hartis, and Lowforge Amy achieved a very creditable second place in the Burns and Becks Gundog Club Puppy Test, and were also judged to be the best pup under 12 months. By all accounts, the tests were quite demanding, so Graham and Amy did very well against dogs up to 18 months old.

Amy is the first of the Viper/Ash mating to achieve distinction in Working Tests, let’s hope it’s the first of many successes for Amy and her siblings.

Isla Training

Isla was entered in a number of Working Tests during the summer, although she was a little inconsistent at times. Nevertheless, she gained some success, including a third place in The Dukeries Novice WT, where her litter sister Kim, Lowforge Amelia of Russjancoe finished second. A good day for the Lowforge girls.

Islas’ best result was third place in the PTA Open Walked Up Test, where she competed against much older and more experienced dogs.

Litter brother, Bob, Lowforge Aragon of Leacaz, went one better, and won the Burns and Becks Novice WT.

We look forward to competing in Field Trials with Isla during the winter, and will also be keeping an eye out for Kim and Bob, who are both trialling as well.
